With decades of experience in public relations, including 14 years as the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s (MBTA) first Hispanic spokeswoman, Lydia Rivera brings expertise in community engagement, crisis management, and strategic communications.
Lydia’s unique approach to introducing a project, educating a community, or diffusing a crisis - begins first - with personal investment in the client through relationship building.
Her reputation is built on genuine commitment to understand clients' services, and their needs and goals through active dialogue and listening. As communications lead on various public facing projects, building this foundation has enabled Lydia and her team to develop and implement timely, successful, and sustainable communication plans for public and private projects.
In addition to working on various Massachusetts projects, Lydia provides public relations services (pro bono) to the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) and Women Transportation Seminar (WTS). Lydia is a member of St. Mary's Board of Trustees and produces a podcast – Building Boston & Beyond - showcasing the various projects underway in Massachusetts and promoting profit and non-profit organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents.
